Third Frontier: An Investment in Ohio’s Future?

IMARC Research - Monday, April 05, 2010

On May 4th, Ohio voters will be asked to decide on Issue 1, the Third Frontier Renewal initiative.  The issue will provide a $700 million renewal of Ohio’s Third Frontier program – the 10 year, $1.6 billion project is focused on re-energizing Ohio’s economy by investing in emerging technologies.  The complete article that appeared in MedCity News provides an overview of the program.

A March article featured in MedCity News states, "Since the Third Frontier program inception in 2002, the Ohio Department of Development states it has generated nearly 55,000 jobs and helped create, attract or capitalize more than 600 businesses."  Third Frontier was created by former Governor Bob Taft and was focused on driving growth for Ohio’s economy.

This is one of those rare programs that has bipartisan support throughout the state.  We encourage everyone to become more familiar with the Third Frontier program -- http://www.unitedforjobsohio.com/what-is-issue-1 and the benefits it has brought to the state of Ohio.  Regardless of your position on the Third Frontier program, we hope everyone exercises their constitutional right to vote on Tuesday, May 4th.
